We and Reality TV posted

Let's face it, even if we do not do reality television, it is increasingly difficult to ignore.

Asked one of my former colleagues who rant about his wife. He can hardly a good dinner with her. She's on TV reality show connected, as are his two sons young adults. Yes, the reality-TV caught up to us to transform the programs, while the moderators of our gardens, our homes, bodies and faces in front of us. The most extreme makeover, the more we like it, the more we like theshow. We are watching closely as we think of ourselves. If only our lives are boring different, even if our modest houses in our dream home, if only cook exotic foods. Our "if" overflow. Our self-esteem would be high? If society is more acceptable? We would like to be ourselves more?

What is reality TV? It 'a genre of television programs, to be followed for events or the fate of the "real" life of people. There are three types of reality TV program. Inthe first, the viewer and the camera of passive observers to people that their daily activities. Are the second type, hidden cameras running when random passers-by in a situation staging. The reactions of passers-by can be funny and sometimes bizarre to see, but also to reveal the truth about the human condition. The third type is the so-called "reality game shows," where participants were filmed intensively in an enclosed environment while competing to win a prize. But what makes this more like 'reality TV' that other game shows is that the general public plays an active role in deciding the outcome of a vote.

With all the hype of reality shows, the basic premise of these programs is not new. These stories are as old as humanity, and not a new phenomenon at all. Once upon a time there was the good fairy with magical powers, has caused the miracle to happen, the girl is revealed as the princess had always been, orthe nature of the princess, the warty toad, a real prince kisses freely. Today, the reality host or program plays the same role, the exercise of magical powers that can only offer sponsors the show.

What makes reality show? Human characteristics, including anxiety, fear and desire. Involved with regard to real people, two factors that come immediately to mind: money and fame. The part of money is the motivation evident. What are the part fame, shows the moment of Starsnormal people.
It would be in the world of reality television, because we have no doubt that the dramatic changes we are experiencing, without the intercession of the visiting team and reach program. We must also bear in mind that manufacturers can the format of the show, as well as for the control to manipulate the outcome. Tears of joy and gratitude that flows easily. But what happens next?

In fairy tales, this is the point of termination of a version of "Happily Ever After", theStrong story and saves us from the idea that obscures the complex emotional and psychological. Beauty, goodness and happiness are always mixed. How about reality shows? Well, it stays true to size. The question then is not with the reality itself, but if in reality television is real enough. Away from the TV screen, the illusion is not a substitute for everything, and external changes necessarily truth within.

If television has begun to live up to the reality of his nameIt would be enlightening programs that show us how real people might be to limit their faith and learn, more thoughtful, generous, kind, understanding, and even witty. Could we program that focuses on improvement rather than outward appearances. For example, a show must be labeled with the real interests, such as asking: "Frankly, the courageous people of dependencies that affect the support of them?" "Can this marriage be saved?" "There can be no peace if the war is aOption? "" I can tolerate my inconsiderate neighbor? "And so on. I was looking forward to a lot of reality shows, rooted to a variety of innovative solutions to deep social conflict requires that viewers can see and vote on which is more effective.

Look inside the interrogation or polling of our prejudices is difficult and often frightening. We as a society, it is much easier to focus on the external, not internal information. Only time will tell ifReality-TV will bring.
